What’s It All About?

Welcome to The Sunrise Chronicles; 366 days of photos, stories, inspirational quotes, thoughts and oddities related to sunrises, new beginnings, creations and more! I haven’t quite figured it all out just yet but there is definitely a theme, the element of time and the use of my creativity muscle, the only toned muscle in my body . . . at the moment!

Inspired by two events in late 2011, I decided to create a blog and photo journal 366 sunrises this year!  The two motivating events were:

  1. Completion of the Landmark Education Forum in September 2011 and the Advanced Course in December 2011 where I discovered that “with WORD and HONORING WORD, we can design a life of workability, freedom and possibility!”  I am all over that!
  2. Viewing of the movie Julie and Julia where blogger Julie Powell’s 2002 challenge is to cook all the recipes in Child’s first book and blog about it.  Creating and committing to WORD kept her motivated and she accomplished her goal!

In an effort to design a life of workability, freedom and possibility I began building a list of 100 things I want to carry out in 2012. This is not a list of New Years Resolutions. Resolutions tend to fail in my opinion. These are desires, goals and actual to-dos which seem to work better for me. You see, I love project management, I love to organize and I get a kick out of checking things off.  In fact, I have been known to complete something that is not on my list and write it down after the fact just so I can “check” it off!  Ann, if you are reading this, I am sure you are thinking of Jack right now!

So by documenting my to-dos and desires, publishing them on a blog and blogging about them, I am committing Word and creating endless possibilities!

My baseline To-Do is to set up a blog to document my 2012 goals. “CHECK!”
#2 on my list if things to do is to get up early every day and start chipping away at my 2012 To-Do List. I could simply set my alarm and get up for the day, but we all know how easy it is to hit that snooze button!  In order to get out of bed, I needed something I am passionate about.  The decision was easy!  I love to photo journal everything, so I decided to photo journal the sunrise each morning [or creatively capture "the moment" on bad weather days and blog about it for 366 days!  [Yes, 366 days.  This WOULD have to be a Leap Year.  Thank you Andrew for reminding me... I think].

For one whose biological clock runs between 9:00am and 2:00am, rising for the sun will be the most difficult of my challenges but it will also help me achieve my goal of altering my biological clock so that I retire at a decent hour each night.

And then she said…“Let the Challenge Begin!”

  1. Thanks for sharing. I, like you, know all about sharing. I went through the Landmark Forum May 2011 in Chicago. It changed my life. I did not go through the Advanced Course but I did take the 10 week Integrity Series.

I am all about logging and writing things down but did not think about creating a list for the new year. I am actually doing that right now.

    Thank you for your inspiration,

    Tasha

    • Tasha, thanks for your message. I loved Landmark. I am sorry that I have not kept up with this blog since June or my to do list as I ended up landing a job that takes up all of the spare time I had and then some. I have to upload all my photos. I completed 366 sunrises! They are beautiful. I must share them. Your note has me inspired to update my blog and inform followers what I have been up to since then. Thanks again, and if you ever get to do the Advanced Course or SELP, I highly recommend it. I did the Integrity Seminar as well and it has changed me! ;)
