“A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked”

My after-work plans included dinner with a wonderful friend.
I met Patty through work years ago. We were in different departments and knew of each other casually. Eventually she transferred into my department and became my boss. I liked her instantly. Sharp, smart, professional, calm and absolutely sweet!
A few years after working together Patty transferred and moved off Cape. We never lost touch and still get together annually during her summer visits to this side of the bridge!
Tonight’s visit was dinner at Baxters Boathouse Club in Hyannis! I just love Baxters. Great food, an awesome waterfront view, and people watching all evening – great entertainment. Another plus, if you are a Cape Codder, is running into friends and acquaintances!
And sure enough, while waiting for Patty I ran into my dear friend Carol for whom I have known her since 1980. What a treat! We spent some quality time catching up over a lovely glass of wine while waiting for Patty. It doesn’t get much better! A beautiful summer night with two of my very special friends!
I love when Patty’s visits. I enjoy hearing about her daughter Jennifer and Patty’s latest career updates. I look forward to the day she moves back to Cape Cod so we can meet more often!

And I would add…….
“….and by love that we remained so!”

What a beautiful thing to write–and I love the inspirational sayings about friendship. I was very moved by your words and your sentiment. I especially like the saying: “It is by chance that we met, by choice that we became friends.” Thank you for your lovely words, and for being my friend. I love your enthusiasm and your spirit. Always, Patty
I meant every word Patty! Thank you for being my friend!
